[Karkat's clearly surprised by his speed, but is able to block him and hold his ground nonetheless.

There is one advantage of using a sickle against a sword: once you've blocked the sword, you can trap it momentarily in the curve of the sickle. Karkat twists his weapon to do so, trying to force Kura's sword to the side to create an opening to attack.]

[He's not used to fighting non-human opponents, and Karkat's speed does suprise him long enough to leave a small opening.]

[Karkat takes advantage of the opening to move in close and, rather than attacking, move past Kura toward the hole in the wall.]

[H-hey! Kura moves to try to intercept him before he can get through the hole, trying to wound him.]

[He manages to get Karkat in the side. It's a shallow wound but it starts to bleed immediately. Karkat goes pale and scrambles through the hole in the wall, clamping his hand over the wound.]

[Kura raises an eyebrow and inspects the cutting edge of the blade.

He looks back at the troll, trying to ascertain what had inspired the change in attitude. He steps after him through the wall. circling slightly to get between him and the door.]

[Karkat's turned so that his body blocks the wound from sight, and is inspecting it carefully. He looks at Kura and glares.]
